About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist with experience in both manual and CNC turning to support precision manufacturing of micro-components for semiconductor and high-tech industries. The role requires strong hands-on machining capability, attention to tight tolerances, and experience working with small, intricate parts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual and CNC lathe machines for precision components.
- Perform micro-machining of small, high-precision parts (tight tolerances, fine features).
- Interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and process requirements.
- Select appropriate tooling, cutting parameters, and machining strategies.
- Conduct in-process inspection using precision instruments (micrometer, vernier, microscope, etc.)
- Ensure parts meet strict quality and surface finish requirements.
- Perform CNC programming / editing (G-code) and troubleshooting.
- Maintain machine cleanliness, tooling condition, and proper documentation.
- Work closely with engineering and QA teams to resolve machining issues.
- Support continuous improvement in machining processes and productivity.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2–5 years experience in lathe machining (manual and/or CNC).
- Proven experience in micro parts machining (e.g. small diameters, tight tolerances, delicate features).
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings and tolerances.
- Familiar with materials such as stainless steel, engineering plastics, or specialty materials.
- Experience in semiconductor, precision engineering, or high-mix low-volume production is an advantage.
- Knowledge of CNC programming (G-code) preferred.
- Detail-oriented with strong commitment to quality and precision.
