Lead CNC Machinist

About the Job
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and optimise CNC milling programs using MasterCAM for complex, tight-tolerance semiconductor components
- Set up and operate CNC milling machines, ensuring dimensional accuracy and surface finish requirements are consistently met
- Design and own end-to-end machining process plans, coordinating workflow across milling, grinding, wirecut, and turning departments
- Define operation sequences, tooling strategies, fixturing approaches, and inter-department handoff criteria for new and existing parts
- Work closely with department leads to resolve bottlenecks, sequencing conflicts, and non-conformances across the production chain
- Review engineering drawings and apply GD&T knowledge to establish machining methods that meet part specifications
- Troubleshoot machining and process issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Mentor and guide junior machinists, sharing programming and process knowledge across the team
- Drive continuous improvement in cycle times, process stability, and scrap reduction across all machining disciplines
- Maintain compliance with quality and safety standards relevant to precision semiconductor component manufacturing
Requirements:
- Minimum 6–8 years of CNC milling experience in a precision or tight-tolerance environment
- Proficiency in MasterCAM (mandatory) for 3-axis and/or multi-axis milling
- Demonstrated experience in process planning or process engineering across multiple machining disciplines
- Familiarity with grinding, wirecut EDM, and CNC turning processes — able to coordinate and communicate effectively with specialists in each area
- Strong ability to read and interpret GD&T engineering drawings
- Experience with tight-tolerance components (±0.005mm or better preferred)
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and coordinate between departments
- Background in semiconductor, aerospace, or medical precision parts is highly advantageous
